CASE STUDY
Darussalam Rebrand
A bold new chapter for a beloved household name
Overview
Darussalam Australia has been a trusted presence in the local Islamic community for over two decades. A family-owned business built on service, faith and familiarity, their name carries genuine affection among the families they have served across generations.
Odyssey Creative was engaged to refresh the brand, bringing a modern sensibility to an institution that had long outgrown its existing identity.
The Challenge
With over twenty years of history behind them, Darussalam Australia carried significant equity in their name. The challenge was not to reinvent who they were, but to ensure the way they presented themselves reflected the quality, care and relevance they had always embodied.
The existing identity needed to evolve, modernised in a way that felt intentional rather than disruptive, and distinctive enough to carry the brand confidently into its next chapter.
Our Approach
We began with a lean brand strategy to establish a clear direction before any design decisions were made. This allowed us to ground the refresh in who Darussalam Australia truly is, rather than chasing aesthetics alone.
The modernisation focused on two fronts. The first was the brandmark and typography, updated to feel bold, contemporary and assured. The second was the development of a unique signature colour, one that could become distinctly theirs across packaging and brand touchpoints, building new equity while standing apart in a meaningful way.
A comprehensive brand guidelines document was produced to ensure the identity is applied consistently and with intention across every context.
Every decision was made with longevity in mind. This was not a trend-driven refresh, but a considered evolution of a brand that the community already loved.
The Outcome
The refreshed identity gives Darussalam Australia a visual presence that matches the stature they have built over two decades. Bold, modern and unmistakably theirs, the new brand is equipped to grow with them across physical and digital spaces, while remaining deeply rooted in the values and trust that have always defined them.
