CASE STUDY
Malek Fahd Islamic School
Bringing a school’s values to life through illustration, animation and everyday learning materials
OVERVIEW
Malek Fahd Islamic School built the RESPECT framework to keep seven core values part of everyday school life.
Odyssey Creative was engaged to give that framework a consistent visual identity: a suite of illustrated pieces spanning classroom illustration and animation, kindergarten and secondary resources, and the school’s masjid, so the same values are represented visually wherever students encounter them across the school.
THE CHALLENGE
MFIS wanted younger students to picture themselves living out values like responsibility and cooperation, not just read about them.
The existing RESPECT framework was already well structured, pairing each letter with an Arabic value term and a supporting competency category. The next step was making it feel lived-in for younger students, through scenes featuring the school’s own students, in their own uniform and environment.
The same thinking extended to the school’s masjid, which needed a resource that made the dhikr recited after each of the five daily prayers, along with correct masjid etiquette, easy for young students to take in and remember.
OUR APPROACH
Odyssey illustrated each RESPECT value as a moment MFIS students would immediately recognise from their own school day.
Every scene features custom illustrations of MFIS students in their actual uniform, and each value carries its Arabic root term in transliteration and script, keeping the framework’s Islamic grounding visible alongside the English behaviour language.
That same illustrated cast then extended across the rest of the school: into simple, looped animation for junior campus screens, and into companion resources for secondary students, kindergarten learners and the masjid, each shaped for its own audience but built from one consistent visual language.

FORMATS
Reaching Different Parts of School Life
Kindergarten Colouring Sheets
A matching set of colouring sheets, one per value, keeps the same character illustrations in simplified line art, paired with a single concrete instruction a five-year-old can actually act on.
Secondary Teacher's Aid Matrix
Masjid Dhikr Poster
A standalone poster breaks the dhikr sequence into its three repeated phrases plus the closing statement of tawheed, alongside an eight-step illustrated masjid etiquette sequence.
OUTCOME
The illustration set has become one of the strongest-performing pieces of content across Odyssey’s own social channels by organic engagement. Within the school, the same visual language now reaches kindergarten colouring sheets through to a secondary teacher’s aid, across screens, print and the masjid, with further formats already being planned.
